Ticket sales and commitment fees cover only a portion of the costs of producing quality shows, educating youth in theatre arts, and keeping programs accessible to students from all income levels. STOCK
Have your stock and mutual fund investments done well, as many have seen in the past year?
Tax advisors tell us you should strongly consider donating appreciated securities instead of cash. If you donate appreciated stock that you have held for more than a year, you can deduct the full market value of the stock from your taxable income without paying any taxes on the capital gains. It results in a "triple bonus": a charitable deduction AND avoiding tax on the unrealized capital gains of the donated stock for you, AND it may allow you to make a bigger gift in a year when we need it most.

GIVE FROM YOUR DAF
If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or Rochester Area Community Foundation, you can request a grant from your fund to Stages, making use of funds you have already donated to the DAF!

Go to your DAF account to request a grant. Specify "A Magical Journey Thru Stages" as the recipient, or use our Tax ID/EIN: 16-1577390.

A Donor Advised Fund is like an investment account that supports charitable organizations you care about. When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a DAF, you get an immediate tax deduction. Those funds can be invested and grow tax-free. Then you can recommend grants from your fund to any IRS-qualified public charity. Many people are setting up DAFs instead of creating their own private foundations, and with expected 2026 tax law changes, now is a good time to start!

Double the impact of your gift! Many employers match charitable contributions and volunteer hours made by their employees, and in some cases will also match donations made by spouses, retirees and board members. It is important to know that often times the matching gift process must be initiated by you, the donor. Please check with your company’s Human Resources Department on how you can make a matching gift possible. This simple process has a tremendous impact on the strength of our programs.
